Boy do I know that feeling. Still to me any cardinal is better than no cardinal (even slightly out of focus). I'd be happy to claim that picture.

Great shot - they are hard to capture since they rarely sit still. We have several sets that hang around our property, and they have the most piercing call. One of them is really dumb, too - keeps trying to fly herself through my closed window! Constantly. They are a gorgeous bird though - we have a bunch of Blue Jays that hang around too, and when they're together it's a really brilliant scene!
