At The Drive-In

Here, we have a hasty iPhone shot of the infamous Sonic Bird.  Once a delicate contributor to the grand symphony of nature, this bird has turned predatory in the face of civilization's encroachment.  Guard your tater tots.

Having some fun with Wild Bird Wednesday

It can happen to the nicest bird. The blue jays in CA were ruthless PB&J thieves. :)

A predatory bird, the cat thinks that is absurd. But he will guard his bush with the tush..haha

How funny! I guess all Sonics have their resident predators because I've often watched the sparrows that hang around ours. When my daughter lived in TX they had grackles at theirs and those can be creepy birds!

I once knew a cat named tator tot!

Ah, yes! Looks are indeed deceiving! And I didn't realize Sonic had become so popular with the winged set! Thanks for the giggle to start the day!

We often worry (and rightly so)about animals being put out of their place by all the human inhabitation. But it seems some creatures survive and even do well in the middle of all our mess.

"Give me some of your tots."
"No, go find your own."
"Come on, give me some of your tots."

I was walking into work the other day when a bone fell from the sky and landed just a foot in front of me. I looked up and saw a crow flying away. I'm guessing it was done with it.

That was a slightly surreal moment.

they can be vicious too...you might lose a finger over one of those tater tots...sc

Wow, cool Mama Zen! I had never heard of Sonic but discovered that there is one near me. I'll have to try it. We had drive-ins with carhops when I was a kid.

some birds adapt to "civilisation".

Great shot...love the contrasts. Those sweet feathered-ones don't always seem so sweet. But, it is survival.
