In 2006, before one of the World Series games in Detroit, they introduced John Mellencamp to come out and sing the song referenced in your post's title, because it was then being used as music for a truck commercial for one of Fox tv's sponsors for the game.
There was a lonnnnnng wait, and then finally Mellencamp came out from one of the dugouts, still yammering away on a cell phone. Having finally appeared, he and his band sleep-walked through a tepid version of the song, and then walked straight off as if he were irritated about something, and most of the crowd were dumb enough to cheer him for the whole fiasco. I always liked him up until then. But ever since, I'm like, sorry, can't listen to your sell-out song John, I really have to take this call.
That is one heck of a slide, my son would love it!
