Review: Recycline Preserve Toothbrush

Some of you may remember that I'm participating in a June Challenge. For the month of June (and, hopefully, beyond), I'm breaking the stranglehold of my addiction to single serving snacks and drinks. Truthfully, my progress has been uneven.

When it comes to beverages, I've done pretty well. Rather than lazily wave a hand in the general direction of a pack of Capri Suns in the fridge, I've been using our water bottles and refilling them religiously. Snack foods have been a little tougher. I do love me some yogurt cups! However, I have found a way to feel a little less lousy about it.

Which brings me to a bit of a product review . . .

Not long after I started the June Challenge, I received a Recycline Preserve Toothbrush (available at Target for $2.o4) to review. The Preserve Toothbrush is made of 100% recycled plastic, including recycled Stonyfield Farm yogurt cups! How cool is that?

Recycline's product line isn't limited to toothbrushes. They also make razors, tableware, and items for the kitchen. All of the products are made of 100% recycled plastics and paper, are 100% recyclable, and are made in the USA. No animal testing is involved with the production of any Recycline product.

So, I tried out the Preserve toothbrush. And, it was . . . a toothbrush. Which is good. The quality matched or exceeded that of any of its less environmentally friendly counterparts. The bristles were soft, the grip was comfortable, the color was pretty (purple!). It was a toothbrush. But, it was a toothbrush that I could feel good about using.

And, it just might help with my yogurt guilt, too!

I've heard of these. Or at least another brand of similar eco-consciousness. I thought about stocking up around the holidays and giving them as small gifts along with the new Kleen Kanteen cups.

Very cool, I didn't know Target had them. I recently started buying big containers of yogurt, because the baby yogurt comes in the Bad Plastic tubs.. If it wasn't for that, I'd still be buying them!

It was the recycled yogurt cup thing that caught my attention in the first place. I just thought that that was really cool.

We refill the water bottles, but can't give up my single serving snacks. Working the way I do, it's too hard to mess around with anything else. I like to just throw a few simple things in my bag as I run out the door, chasing my next assignment. :)

As you say, Recycline also makes razors and other kitchen products from recycled plastic. I just posted a review of some of these products today on my site - 1GreenProduct.com. Hope you’ll pop over to take a look!
