A minute here, a minute there
so I don't have to tear my hair
and rend my garment.
Just a moment, just for me
to take a breath or even pee
without the varmint.
Climbing, hugging, kissy face
up my ass and in my face
I tolerate with all the grace I can.
Please understand.
I am a mother.
And, I dearly love her.
But, sometimes, I "vant" to be left alone!

met too.
Ha ha!! I am so with you, girl! I haven't pee'd alone in about 4 years and I think I have about 4 years to go before I can reclaim the bathroom from my youngest ones!
Awesome little poem. And I totally agree all the way!
Oh I hear ya on this! It must be in the air because my kids have been nuts lately in this way.
This is me, whispering, so as not to disturb your solitude. (applause)
Crack me up! We all need our space now and then!
I hear ya! I few minutes of calm, quiet is so precious!
Brilliant!!
I Love it!
Let's all go be alone together!
yup.
yes.
argh.
Wonderful! When DH is home and Hayden still follows me into the bathroom every single time, DH tries to persuade him to leave me alone (usually to no avail). Then DH always asks, "Does he just follow you around all day?"
Welcome to my world...
Thanks for participating!
Love the poem! So true, so true!
It's those little moments of solitude that make or break my day. I hear ya loud and clear on this one!
Love how creative you were with your poem! I found your post via Mama Blogga's GWP.

Amen and pass the cabernet!
Hysterical and so true. Alone in the bathroom---does it get any better?
