Looking Out My Front Door

Mom of 3 tagged me with an interesting meme: what's your view from your window?

This picture was actually taken from my front porch. It's not a particularly good picture. In fact, I think that I shot it purely for insurance purposes (note the storm). It could be Anywhere, USA. It doesn't get more ordinary than this.

I, however, find this picture extraordinary. Know why? If I walked across the street, stood on my neighbor's porch, and took a shot of my house, the photograph would be almost identical!

I live in a lovely, quiet suburban neighborhood that sometimes strikes me as a little surreal. Driving past the gingerbread houses and manicured lawns, I am often struck by the notion that the whole place looks like a movie set. This is the panorama the director uses to establish that comfy feel of All-American safety. Then, the camera cuts to someone getting their freak on.

I, perhaps, have an overactive imagination. Or, maybe not.

Your imagination feels eerily much like my own. :)

I love the truck!

ha ha - noticed the truck and thought the house across the road shot would at least have that one difference - the truck in the other direction!

I love your imagination.

I know what you mean. Someone once commented that my neighborhood looks like something out of the Stepford Wives! LOL!

BTW, you won the Skin MD Natural lotion giveaway at An Island Review. Please email your mailing address to anislandlife at yahoo dot com.

Congratulations!

I'm not sure what the deal was with the truck, who it belonged to etc...
