This Eclectic Life is having a funniest post contest. I wasn't planning to enter because I just couldn't think of anything. But, then . . .
Yesterday evening, I was out on the deck firing up the grill and enjoying a moment of peace. Suddenly, the back door burst open, and out bounded Baby Puppy. She was in full pretend - puppy mode and naked as the day she was born. She stared at me intently for a couple of seconds, then grabbed her bare coochie with both hands and did a little pee-pee dance.
"Puppy needs to potty," she announced solemnly.
Before I could say a word, she dashed into the middle of the backyard and dropped into the Downward Dog pose (no, really). With dozens of parenting books and hundreds of magazine articles to draw upon, this is all I could come up with:
"DON'T YOU PEE ON YOUR HAIR!"
Baby Puppy very obligingly spread her legs wider to better direct the spray of urine and let 'er rip. When she had finished the deed, she twitched her precious butt a few times for a quick air-dry. Then, completely satisfied with herself, she flounced back into the house.
Note to Mother-in-law: No, she is not completely potty trained, but she is totally housebroken!

oh well, at least you don't have to get her a litter tray eh?!
That brought the best visual image to mind, a definite contender for the funniest post award!
I'm hosting a contest at Babylune too. Well, really, I am just making good on my promise to host a Group Writing Project too and I hope you'll consider participating. Details go up tomorrow at babylune.
So glad you entered that!! Very good visuals with your words!
OMG! At least you had a response! I think all that would come out of my mouth would be words more appropriate for a sailor!
I'm thinking "half-lotus" would have been a safer bet than "downward dog"... but I'm glad it all worked out well. =)
Could you picture it? So glad, because it would have made a hysterical picture if only I had had my camera!
Oh.My.Gawd! I'm trying to imagine my two little cherubs doing that and it ain't taking much! Hysterical!
Ok I am totally cracking up here... what a sight that must have been!!! Too bad you couldn't video it for blackmail purposes in her teenage years!!
Too funny! They never teach you what to do in baby books for THOSE sorts of situations! I LOVED your response to her!!!
Funny stuff!
I'm glad you guys liked the post. Thanks for stopping by!
This is hilarious. It's something my middle child would do!
Thank you, Sarah!
Yep, my youngest would do that. Too funny!
