I'm just an average Mom with average dreams for her child. You know, the usual. I want her to grow up healthy and happy, go to Harvard, travel the world, have a fabulous career, marry Prince Charming, and produce grandchildren. I want her to glide through life without a moments pain or heartache. I want . . . so much for her. I'm a Mom, and I have dreams.
Despite my grandiose plans, I know it's the simpler things that matter more. So, I'll be satisfied if my child will just believe, to the very marrow of her bones, these three things.
- Mommy and Daddy love you. There will be times (many times, I'm sure), when we will not care for your behavior, but we always love you. No matter where life takes you, no matter what life throws at you, you can always come home. We're here.
- You are a precious child of God. Have faith. Be led.
- Trust yourself. Love yourself. Respect yourself. You are valuable, so valuable. Never underestimate your worth.

what a lovely post. It is in stark contrast to what I write for the writing project (mine will be up tomorrow)...
That's wonderful! Short and to the point. Those are lessons she'll need (desperately, if she's like most girls) as a teenager and it's wonderful to get them started now!
Lovely! I couldn't have said it better myself. :)
Thank you! I can't wait to read everyone else's entries.
Wonderful. Keep these lessons coming through the teen years; she'll survive, with your help.
We'll both need them in the teen years!
Thanks for stopping by!
Ahhh this is lovely.
I agree totally with the first. That was my first too.
And what an amazing thing to let you're child know how valuable they are.
It's so important yet we take it as a given.
I'll be aiming to make sure my two little monkeys know that now.
Great blog.
Well said and so true, so true.
